DW: Universe... block travel to a system?

Ok,

So I'm starting to play this game (and it's got quite the learning curve), but one thing I would like to do, is tell my automated ships to AVOID flying into a system (pirate controlled, and I keep losing ships there).

Is this possible?

I am afraid it isn't. The AI is very stubborn about visiting systems that are no good for them.

I suggested an option for this years ago - but nothing happened.
It´s not funny if your ships keep trying to refuel in the Guardian´s home system pissing them off.... I have this in every single game I play. I think it can´t be that hard to implement something to mark a system as a no-fly-zone and let automated ships check it before flying to a location....

Personally I've found that fully automated fleets are just not worth it.

It's much less of a headache to manually assign the fleets and use the fleet stance button to restrict each fleet to a system or a sector to keep them out of areas where they will just faceplant a wall of enemies.

@Mansen For fleets I do the same. But what about the other ships flying around e.g. exploration ships. They for example love the Guardian system and when they are in that general area and no fuel source from me is near, they always (!) fly to the Guradians to refuel there. I found no way to tell them not to do so. Depending on the location of the Guardian system on the map the midgame can get quite frustrating to micromanage all the explorers from not flying into their system. Am I really the only one experincing this problem?

Yeah I can't really help there - I assume the Exploration AI is designed to have them re-visit system to keep an eye on developments there.

Even if it means enemy systems.
