2.04 Still not done, but close

We are very close to being done, but hit two bugs over the weekend that need to be squashed before we can release the package to Matrix. One is a sudden breaking of campaign setup zones. They were there, vanished, thought it was fixed and they failed again. Rob's #1. The second is the on going attempt to wrangle proper AI performance when scooting based on standoff ranges. This is a deeply nested code issues and a number of attempts and some rewriting have not worked out as planned. We do close in on some better performance over the weekend but there are still some problem we need to address before we can pass it on to you guys.

We will keep you guys posted on the progress this week as we try to get thins wrapped up on this before we go to Origins next week. We are on a very tight schedule with everything so it will be close.

Sorry we don't have better news today.[:(]

Thanks for keeping us informed Capn Darwin, more game developers could take a leaf out of your book by explaining the hurdles that must overcome, it helps the community to be more understanding and supportive when waiting for updates.

I agree one million percent! I recently got into Battlefront's Combat Mission games, and while they are good and I thoroughly enjoy them, the developers are shut up tighter than the Pentagon when it comes to updates, bug fixes, release schedules and general communication, especially when there are some bugs in their new release that need fixing. I am very frustrated with their lack of communication, but everyone is different and apparently it works for them.

So, thank you Jim! Your attention to your fans is greatly appreciated.

We spotted a couple bugs during our sessions at Origins and I ran across a bug Thursday night that has part of the arty code not working as intended. We hope to have those items fixed this weekend and in testing next week. From there we hope to be able to release as long as we did not break anything else this weekend. [:D]

Thanks for hanging in there.

You won't be waiting much longer. We are updating documentation and starting to work with Matrix on when we will have a file package for installer work and also dealing with the short week next week in the US.
