Do the Radar installations have any practical use in the game other than as targets to add experience points for your units? I played Sealion 40 and knocked out all of the radar before invading and there were hardly any British aircraft around for the landings, would there have been more if Radar was intact?

They give a bonus to planes attcking or defending near them. It's worth taking them out to cut your losses.
