Thank you, dili.
I guess the landing capability of No.1 class somewhere between landing ship and APD. Maybe there should be a dedicated class for them with a different unload rate?
And would love to see the SS class in the game.

Yeah would be nice, Japan only gets LSD's too late for the game.
Maybe i should post this in naval OOB.

Thx Dili for digging them up!
Here is more info on the SS class:

Also interesting and apparently missing in the game - "landing craft transports":

Hi LST. Not really missing, but abstracted. Having a class for every ship would choke things up pretty good.
The "landing craft carrier" is abstracted into those ships which can convert to an "AK" type. The "AK" type allows for "amphib" type unloading and assists other ships in a TF. This was precisely the Japanese concept. The "landing craft carriers" hauled the landing craft and "shipping engineer" and "debarkation" units. They serviced the entire 'amphib' TF, most of whom did not have any integral landing support capability. Very unlike the US concept, in which every ship designated AK/AKA/AP/APA had significant integral landing operational capability.
Notably, the vast majority of classes (ships) which are able to convert to AK type did not do so IRL. The conversion is by Class, not Ship. But we thought that particular abstraction was reasonable, under the circumstances. A more grainy approach is certainly warranted and I hope this thing about the original "concept" helps you zero in on the details.
Ciao. John

Yeah the landing craft's transports are the AK's they have also the option to convert cargo space to troop transport. I think this was well done in the game.

This class "landing craft transports" class:
http://www.navypedia.org/ships/japan/jap_aux_aux_ls.htm
has four AA-heavy ships:
Hyuga Maru
Kibitsu Maru
Settsu Maru
Tokitsu Maru
Each of this ship is said to have "up to 60 x 25mm AA guns". That could translate to 30 x 25mm twin mounts. These ships are not present in the game. Does any non-combat Japanese ship in the game have a conversion that matches the above AA firepower?

We have them in RA. They arrive earlier and in slightly larger numbers:
Sorry about the artwork. It should be there but decided not to show in the screenshot.
