What's the fastest way to grow a colony?

I have been setting the taxes to 0 but it takes a long time to grow new colonies from colony ships.
Is there any way to get population to those new planets quickly?

Tax does only help with migration with the latest patch.
The way to have them grow quickly is to have "full" colonies nearby to provide migrants.

Indeed, the best way to grow them is to conquer the homeworlds of other empires! More population to migrate to developing colonies ... [;)]

patch notes only say it has been reduced, not disabled.
"low colony tax rates do not increase population growth rates as much as previously"
so 0% tax is still good for growth. apart from that, not much you can do.

Hmmm... Was hoping there was a way to force passenger ships to move them.

0% taxing does still work for SOME growth, but certainly not on the level it used to be. I could almost ALWAYS max out my homeworld before the preWarp era was over, but now I'm lucky to get to half size before reaching hyperdrives.
I still use the 0% for most of the preWarp era as there really isn't a whole lot to spend money on anyway (I find). I'm now at least 2 decades (or more) before I even get close to maxing out. Also, 0% tax still works well when dealing with Pirate protection deals.
As much as this was my favourite exploit (I think I made it famous on YouTube![:D]), I'm glad it's been toned down. [8D]

You could always fast track up the high tech medical line for the medicomplex and academy wonders
