From time to time I'll check on my freighters and see what they are transporting, and then I realize that some of them grab a very tiny amount of resources from the mining stations to bring back to planet. For example, a mining station will have like 8000 steel, 6000 lead, and 6000 gold sitting in its cargo, but the freighter only grabs 500 steel and nothing else. [&:]. They should be grabbing the maximum amount of resources their cargo can hold. I've even seen freighters carry only 50 of one resource. Whoever's running the private sector is either always drunk, or just plain stupid, because the lack of efficiency is driving me crazy. Its a waste of time, fuel, and a drain on economy. Hope this can be fixed in later patches.

how much they pick up is directly related to how much is requested.

imo they should have a system in place that says freighter with no mission go to stations with resources and drop them off at nearest SP/ Planet.

sadly the only full cargo i have ever seen is when they haul gas like hydro and cas. otherwise its just little bit of this and that. I even had to upgrade my mines cargo to like 60k as they keep getting full and yet i have spaceports that can't build due to lacking those same resources.

Wait till you see one traveling at warp 15 from one side of the galaxy to the other with 18 lead LOL LOL LOL.
