Space Plane Technology

I noticed that if you complete all the Space Planes missions, that technology development route comes to an end. I have always thought that if that route had been fully developed that would have been THE way we would have accessed space. But, in the game it just stops. Is that perhaps a glitch in the game?[&:]

Hello HudsonGame,

For part 1, the development of space planes ends with the PKA and X-15. Part 2 will feature STS and Buran and in part 3 we're planning to include a program category for SSTOs.

Cheers,

In fact he is asking for lunar landing using a space plane :-)

Yes, I do think lunar landing (Mars landing?) should be possible.

Good catch. A kind of space plane would be a good idea for mars. If not a good idea, an interesting one in terms of gameplay!

It can be done but using a lander not using the space plane, because their need a runway...

It also need an heavy work on animation/mission/internal data and it's not planned...

I was discussing the idea of a spaceplane landing on the moon and Mars with my son and I agree with him that a moon landing would not seem practical. Because Mars does have an atmosphere, a spaceplane could land but it would have to be largely reworked to be able to land on rough terrain and then take off again.
