Initially, when firing mortars they are right on. But after around 3 fire missions they tend to cease or will not fire past the troops I have on the front line. Me?

Mortar teams will cease fire when their fire mission is complete, unless they have LOS to a target. As a mortar team runs low on ammo, they will cease fire until a new fire mission order is given.
