Ship Art Needs

Hello.
With work fully underway with the Treaty--DB-C RA--Between the Storms Mods, we are looking at seeing if anyone is interested in doing some new ship art. I know we have work laying around and available but wanted to see if anyone wanted to take a crack at some new work? Needs are as follows:
1. The Japanese G.6 CAV.
2. A British Exeter-Based CAV as well.
For better visuals, take a look at the Between the Storms Thread where the Editor versions of these are pictured.
I've got the Constitution, Amagi, and American CLV art for the Mods. Just need the above.
Thanks!

Also have the following needs:
1. USS King's Mountain. A CVL built after the failed Ranger. Figure it would have a slightly smaller Ranger appearance.
2. IJN Ryukaku: A single hangar deck version of Ryujo.

Exeter is a bit small for a CAV, isn't it?
The potential flight deck would be less than 300 feet, and depending on how big a hanger deck you're thinking about, she'd have serious stability problems.

Woof. Terminus is quite right, Much of what you are doing is operationally useless. But, you may do what you will. Ciao. JWE

Wholeheartedly agree with BOTH of you. This is why it was a failed design.
The wessels are great 'what if' ships that made it to the drawing board and were then seen as not fulfilling either a cruiser or a CVL well. They aren't a really useful cruiser and they are quite limited as a carrier. I've tried to reflect that by lowering their number of salvos for the main/secondary guns, as well as a quite modest number of sorties.
As to the Flight Deck question, the American CLV (Charlotte & Jacksonville in this Mod) had a flight deck of only 332 Ft so Exeter fits within those rough operational numbers.
Terrible ships for one mission or the other but fun, shiny toys that can be played with or converted into something more useful.

I'm still interested in hearing what sort of stats you're considering for this CAV.

BTW, I'm working on a side for it. It's been a while since Frankenboat Shipyards has been open, so...[:D]

See my problem?
Given that you can't let the flight deck hang over the gun turrets, and that the hull isn't wide enough (and technology isn't there to angle the deck), you've got a flight deck that's less than 300 feet long. That makes a HUGE difference to the 330 feet you mentioned with your other classes. And think of the inevitable dip an aircraft struggling for speed would make once it took off. Right onto B turret.
My point being that even though she might get designed and constructed, would she live long enough to see the Pacific War?

Terminius: LOVE the ship art! Go over and see my most recent Postings in Between the Storms. Think you might smile!
PS I'll take the ship art no matter what! [&o]

Curious where under 300ft of flight deck is coming from? While I agree with the assessment that these are too small to make good CVs or CA/CLs, by my reckoning if the CAV is somewhere between a Hawkins and a Kent in size, and the flight deck extends as you've depicted it (some 60-65% of WL length), thats a flight deck of atleast 360ft. Even if the ship is somewhat smaller it will still be the 330 you mentioned.

This is what comes from trying to do math in my head. The Exeter is 548 feet long, and 60% of that is 328 feet. Still catastrophically short, but not as short as I made it out to be.

Ah, fair enough if you're using Exeter as your yardstick. I figured they'd be a little larger given their displacement of 10,000 tons, so was using the Kent/London at 600ft+ as my baseline.

Both of you are spot on though when you look at how TINY that deck is! Charlotte (the US CLV) had a slightly angled flightdeck to buy more length for the flight deck as well as have the planes not take off directly over the turrets...

I need an attempt at a G.6 for the Japanese.

Would 328' really be a problem for biplanes though?

If you think that flight decks looks tiny from an image, imagine how much fun it was to land on the darned thing.

How much is "slightly"? These ships are rather narrow beam, and too much stuff hanging too far over the side will go back to those stability problems.
