I plan to playtest both sides myself, but would like a companion to be the enemy both times. That means you get to try both Axis and Allies in this one. I don't imagine we'll get very far on the first try (playtests never go well the first few times), so this shouldn't involve a ton of time.
We can start any time after this weekend. I have a few more tweaks to make.

I'll let you know then if I am in in case you don't find anybody by the time and should I be taken on I'll have a few more questions beforehand anyway so it's not 100% fixed appointment.

Sounds good. I'm finding new stuff to do on this every day anyway, so the more time between now and the first official playtest, the better.

As I have just seen Morsehead is also willing to help, but he's able to service one side only so if I am in I'd possibly take the Allies here. Are we going to use 3XBb unofficial patch to offset the vanilla 3.4 bugs?

What's the 3XBb patch? I've been out of the loop for a while.

An unofficial fix hat deals with the most annouying bugs that were introduced by the infamous latest offical 3.4 patch - namely the faulty bonus for a low proficiency dug in defender which reduces any Blitzkrieg tactics to WWI style trench stalemates and the AAA bug that made the units without AAA icon on their counters unable to engage aircraft even if they had specialized equipment in their TO&Es. I had had so many occassions to observe how great scenarios were reduced to unplayable rubbish - like Europe Aflame were the French were stopping the Germans as long as they wished on their way to Paris and even the siege of Belgrade was a tough nut to crack due to immense turn burn. In Falotti's the Great War the bug made the French attacking Germans take terrible losses with no single German casualty and on the other hand halting the Schlieffenplan dead in its tracks as early as Belgium and Luxembourg with the boche banging their heads against the wall in vain everywhere all along the western front. In the Dneper '41 the panzers were milling in place since the Soviet lines were impenetrable - do I really have to carry on? I'll understand the will to test a scenario in its vanilla condition, but given the state of affairs of the 3.4 game version this is going to be hell of a killjoy especially for the Italian campaing since Mone Cassino is going to be everywhere starting with Sicily as long as the enemy is able to form a continuous front line. I think I'll refuse on the spot engaging myself into such endeavours, such a terrible waste of time and effort.
Hence I am raising the 3XBb topic.Oberst_Klink who blessed my TOAW III wargaming with the 3XBb gospel knows all the technical details.

I was just curious. We'll use the 3XBb patch. I'll get it tonight.
