Liberation reversion?

In my current game, Italy had conquered Tunisia. The US took all Tunisian ports, and was asked if it wanted to liberate Tunisia. I said yes. Then I was asked if I wanted to revert Tunisia to the French. Frankly, the answer is no, but in game terms, one should, so I said yes. Then MWiF asked if I wanted "Return territory to Tunisia (United States)." I said yes. However, the US still owns a bunch of hexes in Tunisia. Should they?

Here is a picture; the next post is a saved game from the liberation step, where the problem occurred. Also, I had focus problems with the saved game (although not when I first played it); the dialog box wanted to stay behind the display screen, and it took some contortions to get it in front.

The sequence of play looks OK to me. Only the changing of control of hexes doesn't seem correct.

Tunesia is a minor country (which was French controlled before the war).

If the US chooses the liberate the country, next comes the question if the US wants to give the country back to France. Lets assume the US doesn't want give the country back to France. Than, Tunesia becomes an aligned minor country controlled by the US.
If the US gives the country back to the French, than all hexes not controlled by the US become French.

After this, the US is asked if they want to revert any hexes to France. If they say no, the hexes now controlled by the US, stay US controlled (at the cost of the US not being able to cooperate with the French, I believe).

If they say yes, than all of Tunesia becomes French controlled. The latter obviously went wrong, so that's a bug.
