Air Combat Bug?

I'm playing the Archangel scenario and I have ran into a possible air combat bug.
I attacked the Russian LA5 fighter group with both of my fighters and it looks like the Russians have super fighters! Even though the combat report says they took hits it didn't show on the map as taking any losses.

Hello Ralph Harper,
this is no bug, just a misunderstanding about how the combat window displays the values. I will add an explanation in the "Good to know" thread for everyone to clarify this.
You attacked in rain which is a waste of ammunition most times. I would recommend this only if you have an airfield and air superiority. The weather nuillified your attack.
