Try "run estab manager" instead of "compile."

If there are problems with the XML just edited, it will generate a list of error messages for tracing back to the errors against specific items in the XML file.

When I reach a "XML Imported Successfully" message, I know the COE will compile without problems.

It's a little more tedious, but helps isolate problems with item edits in the Estab.

The problem is that COTA (V46276) do not display correctly some Image File!
And you get the error messages Image missing![&:]

I have Command Ops reinstalled to V.44263 !
Then I renamed (copy) the file COTA to OTTO!
And generated a OttoEstab.coe!
and save all! (OttoEstab.coe, OttoEstab.xml and OTTOEstab_Images)
All went without problems!

Then the update to V.46279
Test with Otto File! Did not get any error message! All OK![:)]
Then test with the COTA File (V46276) error message the image missing?[&:]

COTAEstab_Images and OTTOEstab_Images have the same number of images?[8|]


Estabe works! But you have to be very careful what you do![:)]

As best I can determine, the issue appears to revolve around linking the correct image file name to a particular Estab weapon / platform entry.

The two issues I've encountered in compiling the Estab file are file name and image size inconsistencies (as I recall the size has to be 120 Pixels wide by 90 Pixels tall -- the specific information is in the Estab Editor Manual).

Compiling an Estab file under a new name eliminates the linkages between the file images and the compiled estab file.

What I'm saying is the CotaEstab is Battles for Greece! I have take this file 1 to 1 in the V.44263 renamed to OTTOEstab. No change!
This was not possible in V.46279! [&:]

If you want to duplicate a Estab the sequence of steps is:

1) Open the Estab with the EstabEditor
2) Select the option "Save As" from the File menu, enter the name of your estab (e.g. "Otto.xml")
3) You'll get prompted with a pop-up window that reads

"Creating Estab images folder: Otto_EstabImages"

4) Now, you need to copy manually the image files from the original estab images folder (e.g. the COTA estab) into the "Otto_EstabImages" folder.

The above should work under the latest version - I duplicated an Estab last night.

Indeed Step 4) is a bit "strange" in the sense that it would also make sense that the Estab Editor copied the images for you. I think that adding a pop-up asking the user whether he also wants the images transferred is a good idea, and will get into CO2.

COTAEstab has an error or the update is not ok??
