We know of 2 issues and will be hot fixing the exe early next week. Was it worth the wait? Let us know.

Looking good so far but still early - this caught my eye though...
US F-117s no longer carry nukes. There was a bad weapon pointer to a missing weapon. Fixed now. Surprised nobody saw that.
Wouldn't have been a comma after the last weapon in the loadout would it [;)]

Got 2 weather changes that don't appear documented
1. sunrise and sunset visibility changes are smaller now e.g. 5250meters - 6250 meters over 5km - km
2. not seen the sunset etc timings before

That panel should be in the What's New (Section 2.6.2) and in the updated scenario editor guide (in section 4.4.1).

We also fixed a bug that let a 10km distance that was being used as a starting limit in the code to fall through and be used when it shouldn't. I also went into all of the visibilities for each weather condition and set up a range that can change over time during the day.

Have you tweaked the enemy AI pathing as well, its seems more inclined to move alongside roads not just down them

Pretty much everything got some form of tweak and adjustment. The what's new covers the major items, but we fixed little bugs, and made minor adjustments to all sorts of items to get the AI doing some smarter things. Fanning out and avoiding kill zones should be more pronounced. A number of the sighting bugs being squashed also made the AI a bit smarter in move and shoot situations. The play and feel is much better in my opinion than it was with 2.03.

The new ICM animation is great!
It needs its own sound effect though.
Edit - Infantry mortars are playing the auto cannon sound

Mike, I'll check the mortars. The ICM sound may be trickier, but I'll look.

I am very very happy with the ability to set posture at completion of movement. This enables things like moving to alternate positions on a Battle Position and doing survivability moves. It is a huge, huge plus.

My losses have gone WAY DOWN because of this one feature. It's also one of the features that stopped my adding the last 3 scenarios to the campaign. I just couldn't get the balance right in time. I will continue to work on them though and probably release them as free content when I get them worked out.
Hopefully that won't be too much longer.
Good Hunting.

First of all: Thank you so much for the update!
Wasen't it planned to improve the visibility of elevations in the update ( as seen at origin)? If not, is there a map pack somewhere that introduces this way of displaying elevation?

There was no plan to redo the map for 2.04. We are looking for ways to improve the maps if possible for 2.1. The redo of the engine for 2.1 (which will basically be a new game) hopefully will allow to improve the maps. Our goal with the maps were to map them more practical and readable than the ones in the original FPG, which they are (IMHO). There are little things we should be able to do to define elevation better which we are planning. How far at this time we can improve on the maps will be determined by some upcoming test Rob and Capn D will be preforming on the engine.

The addition of the map folders in the game is to allow for different custom map sets to be used. That's the changes made for maps in 2.04.
Good Hunting.

+1
I'm very encouraged by the improvements made in v2.04. Despite all the great features in the original release, there were just too many little things that bugged me personally based on experience and I didn't want to keep playing with 'game tactics' to compensate for what I really wanted to do. I replayed the tutorial to get a feel for the new features and it appears that the game is ready for prime-time and worthy of deeper study by players. I look forward to getting back into the game this month (one more week on the road!) and maybe your hotfix will be out by the time I do. Thanks team!

The AI is much better at traffic management. This results in a faster pace of attack in the US Campaign. G3 Plans is burning midnight oil revising OPPLANs....

Do minefields and obstacles have "friends" in this game? In other words, can a unit move through it's own minefield with no risk of damage, or it's own obstacle with no movement delay? Every board game I've played that has mines/obstacles, they affect both sides equally, no matter which side placed them.
I'm asking this because I am playing the Fulda Frontier of Freedom scenario as the U.S. (begun with 2.03, continued in 2.04). I plotted a 4-hex, 1-waypoint move for a U.S. unit, and the path was going to take the unit across 2 U.S. obstacles. I canceled the move and did it again with 2 waypoints to prevent the unit from entering the obstacle hexes, so I don't know if the unit would have been delayed.
