Not quite right after Beta?

Hi Folks,

My honorable Japanese opponent in a GC had a computer failure and had to re-install the game on a new computer. He loaded the game from the distro CD and then installed the latest Beta. I also upgraded to the latest beta. We were having PWHEX mismatches that we think we have fixed by using the latest version of pwhexe.dat from my install.

Since then he has noticed some changes with respect to Super-Es ASW strength, IJN aircraft ranges and IJN ship radars availability dates. I have noticed that I have to garrison seven more towns in Burma. Are these because he did not install the latest official release before installing the beta? Or are these as intended with the latest beta? Or is there a different explanation?

Cheers,
Guy

BTW, before the computer crash we had been using the ~November 2013 Beta.

Your opponent needs to install the basic game, then the latest official patch, and then the beta update. The latest official patch, 1108.r9, has all of the data updates in it. The betas do not update the data files.

Also, The Japanese player should update the beta first. Send the turn to the allied player who then runs the combat replay. Then the allied player updates to the latest beta, does his orders and then sends it back to the Japanese player. Miss matches in the files are caused by not doing the upgrade in this order. The garrison issue is something I have not encountered. Although I do remember a few years ago I was playing scenario one I think and after a beta or official update I had to garrison an extra location or to in burma. I'm old so maybe i'm not remembering it correctly.......GP
