Open Game Error

I had one big air combat that bombed and had to go back to the last saved game file. I went back to the attacker adding interceptors phase and found that the program opened up the situation as if the air-to-air combat had already been fought for the two air battles that phase. I was only fighting in the first one when the program bombed on me. I'm using version 1.207. I wasn't able to get back to the air combat I set up without going back to a default save that allowed me to set up the bombing attacks again plus set my interceptors for both sides.

I have noticed that sometimes the air combat screens don't always continue to pull up for the last result to be seen or acted upon. It's much better than in 1.07 but still not perfect. I had one awesome air combat go 11 rounds before bombing. Then I ran it again and after about 6 rounds it bombed. Finally on the third go it finally finished that one air combat and then the other. My observation makes me think that when air combats get bloody they tend to bomb, when the air combats aren't too bloody they finish up. I sure hope this is improved so air combats are bullet proof.

Hi Omnius,

By bombing do you mean the problem when the screen to pick a response or simply 'OK' is buried behind another? I still get this (although less often) but have always managed to 'fix' it by opening up something like the Production Planning view, then closing it again. The hidden Air Combat screen appears on the top waiting a response.

Hope this helps.

Very often it has been observed that a dialog box is waiting for a response, but is hidden from view; when these issues have been reported.

The way to work around this, is to press F10 and close that form. At that point, the dialog box appears on top, so you can proceed.

I could use more information on what you refer to as the program 'bombed'. As always, the more details the better.
