Run with Windows 8.1 on MAC

Post by riflebrigade »

Is it possible to run Command - Modern Air/Naval Operations on a Macbook Pro Retina Screen using Bootcamp with Windows 8.1?

As long as it runs in Windows 8.1 you shouldn't have any problem. I have a MacBook Pro (late 2011) and I run it on Parallels Desktop (for other reasons unrelated - used Parallels for years). If anything it should run better using bootcamp than it does on Parallels and I have no complaints at all about performance on Parallels.

I run it on a Bootcamp Windows 7 set up with no issues. You should have no problems on Windows 8.1.

Does anyone have any actual experience running the latest version (1.04) on a bootcamped win 8.1?

I had it up and running on a vanilla 1.00, but after updating to the latest version, the game crashes on the in-game start menu. according to Windows eventlog, it is because of a nullpointer in som audio component:

Exception Info: System.NullReferenceException
Stack:
at NAudio.Wave.AcmMp3FrameDecompressor.Dispose()
at NAudio.Wave.AcmMp3FrameDecompressor.Finalize()

Any ideas?
