kills being credited to wrong pilot

During the attached turn there are air battles at Katha and Rabaul. As a result of this two Japanese pilots make Ace status.
LT Kaneko, T. of Ryujo-1 is credited with kill number 5
LT Kaneko, T. of Ryujo-1 attains ace status!!
PO2 Nagaishi L. of Zuikaku-1 is credited with kill number 5
PO2 Nagaishi L. of Zuikaku-1 attains ace status!!
However, both of these pilots are located in air groups miles from any fighting. It looks like the wrong pilots are being assigned kills.
Is this something messed up with the pilots in our save game or is this a bug?

It probably case here
. I am losing a lot of PB4Y-1 Liberator around Guam last couple turns. So now I know where KB is

Very unlikely, but I would rather not say why in case the enemy is reading[:-]

No evidence presented to substantiate claim that a bug exists. Why do you think there is a link?

PM sent to Alfred but I don't want to post more information now. Will post once the question of where my carriers are becomes no longer relevant.
However, I don't claim a bug exists.
I suspect we have a corrupt saved game (so in that sense a bug exists but not something that anyone can do anything about).

Another occasion. On this occasion the pilot getting the kill is in Reserve. However, he had only just been transferred to reserve.

Above is probably a case of an a/c that the pilot damaged when he was w/ his previous unit being written off so is getting "credit" for a kill. Can't say about the original problem

Hadn't thought of that one. It is possible, but in other cases the pilot had been in his new group for a few days.
