1. Separate tabs for troop and characters
(It's inconvenient that they are in same tab. Only button they share is Transfer.)

2. Multiple selection for troops. (As usual, by pressing CTRL)

Those are good suggestions! In the mean time, I just go to the troop screen (last icon on the menu bar) and deal with troops from there. It has all the facilities you asked for above.
