Things I want to see and change in this game.

Firstly, I would like to say I like the game, but there is a whole lot of more that I want to see from this type of game.
I’ll tackle the things that just don’t make sense first.
Aircraft (Air units)
Aircraft just don’t fly around the world, turn after turn, after turn, after turn. Get the picture? Aircraft have a base and they have a range. They only operate to the limit of their range and after completing their mission they return to their base to refuel, rearm and for the flight crews to recover.
Aircraft should have an air to air strength, ground support rating and bombardment strength. The only other strength it may have is an ECM rating.
Air to air strength deals with its attack on other enemy air units.
Ground support rating deals with it ability to inflict damage on ground or naval units.
Bombardment strength reflects its ability to damage units being manufactured by the city or its ability to destroy buildings within that city. The player chooses which he will attack. It can also be used to destroy terrain improvements. The only exception to this is roads. Once a road is built it exists.
ECM rating is it armour. The higher the ECM is, the less damage the air unit will take from enemy attack.
Ships (Naval Units)
Yes I know, ships can stay at sea forever with nuclear power. But do they? Even a SSBN only stays at sea for 5-8 months at time before returning to port. Crew fatigue, maintenance and restocking of provisions are the main reasons why they need port time.
In game terms, naval units need endurance. Naval units must be back in a friendly port by the time they use up their endurance or be destroyed.
Naval units also shouldn’t be allowed to repair themselves at sea. Ports repair ships.
A new unit should be created; Transports. Land units no longer have the ability to move themselves across water. A player must create a naval transport to do this.
Supply
Land units don’t walk off into the ‘Never Never’ and continue to operate for months at a time.
Land unit should be restricted to operating within two hexes a Line of Communication (LOC). A LOC can be a road connected to a friendly city.
Lose your LOC and your units are frozen in place and are unable to move and are unable to attack. They also drop down to half strength when defending.
Beachheads can be formed by expending a Transport naval unit, thus creating a de facto port in enemy or undeveloped land.
Now when you give an Allie an 'Open Borders' Agreement, it means something. Your cities and roads are now a source of supply determination for their forces.
Your thoughts?
