Hi

I am trying to run Witp:ae on a 15 inch retina using parallels.

My command line is "C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -fd -px1600 -py900 -r -skipVideo -cpu2 -deepColor –multiaudio –dd_sw -altFont

My reolution is maximum for Windows desktop and parallels setting : use retina resolution OFF ( when it is ON game screen loads only 1/4 of the screen or so )

Game loads ok but painfullt slow.

Any help is much appreciated.

Actually I believe it has something to do with my CPU settings but I may be wrong ;

Parallels desktop setting is 2 CPUs with 4 Gig RAM

-fd -px1600 -py900 -r -skipVideo -cpu2 -deepColor –multiaudio –dd_sw -altFont

can -cpu2 setting maybe not right for this one ?

I'm running on 13" MacBook Pro (no retina). Win 7 and Parallels 9 (which I think improved performance from 7&8). How much space did you allocate to the BootCamp HD? I partitioned 100GB and run Windows, WitPAE and MWIF no problem. Not sure you need the "-cpu2"? I also don't use -fd -r -multiaudio or -altfont

Yes I am as well - I think it still uses BootCamp to partition your HD to run Windows on

I am assuming that you mean that the orders phase is painfully slow. Try adding this switch.

-SingleCpuOrders

I added that line but still no improvement on speed

current settings are "C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -fd -px1920 -py1080 -skipVideo -deepColor –dd_sw -altFont -SingleCpuOrders

HDD size is 60 gigs from parallel

desktop size is 3360 X 2400 sth pixels in Windows and 'retina mode' in mac

I suspect that I am missing stf in the video settings here since even with px and py sizes , the witp screen seems to me 1024x 768, if I make it any bigger screen scrambles and only upper left quarter of loading screen is shown

You have it set for full screen mode, have you tried windowed mode instead to see if that improves the situation?

Try taking all the extras out - also what version of Parallels? I seem to remember that the updates made stuff run much quicker.

This is on a big desktop iMac - 16 GB memory, 3.4 GHz Intel, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675 MX 1024 MB

Parallels generals settings on screenshot.

Windows command line settings are:

War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -w -px1680 -py1050 -deepColor -altFont -archive -skipVideo -cpu2 -dd_sw

Don't know if any of that helps. My games run fine with that.
