Scenarios Classification

As anyone ever try to design a method for scenario classification ?
The number of scenarios I download is growing rapidly, and I soon will be lost between pages and pages to scroll until I found the one I want.
Is there any method like renaming them cleverly so that for example:
scen001 to scen099 are before 1939
scen100 to scen199 are 1939/40
scen200 to scen299 are 1941
scen300 to scen499 are 1942
scen500 to scen699 are 1943
scen700 to scen899 are 1944
scen900 to scen999 are 1945 and beyond
Is it possible to have ###>999 ?
Or would it be clever to classify by geographic area ?
Like
- Spain
- Desert Theatre
- Northern Europe
- France
- Germany
- Italy and mediteranean country
- Poland and other center Europe
- Russia
- Pacific
- Indonesia and South-East Asia
etc, etc...
What do you think ?

It would be exceedingly clever to classify the scenarios in almost any comprehensible way. The problem is, you won't get anyone to observe the classifications.
I can't impress much of anyone about at the very least, rock bottom minimum, having the designer stating in clear terms which date OOB's the scenario is based upon. In the text file. How about INCLUDING the OOB's for the scen, IN the scen package?
Good luck with your classification system. It is an idea with considerable merit. So was the Edsel.

Hi all,
if that interested anyone, I am currently reclassifying all scenarios I have by theatre of Operation (country or smaller), and then by years.
I also begun to rename them starting at 200 for each theatre and copy them back in the SPWaW folder so I do not mess up with unsorted-ones.
I could do a big fat zip in the end if some are interested.

PS: I have also "de-constructed" some campaign back into scenarios (I delete some by mistake in the campaign editor, and then you could not add them back !

), because I was interested by their maps.

I would be happy with a slight recoding of Scenario Wrangler to allow sorting on the various columns - this was promised but never saw the light of day.
Not complaining, just wish someone with progamming experience would do this. Otherwise ScenWrang is the best thing since sliced bread or canned beer.

Steel Panthers Manager Ver 3 (available from Tankheads site
http://www.tankhead.ca/SPWaW/downloads.asp)
is a bit old and does not recognise or move the scenario .rec files <video replay files> but this doesn't matter as the game willl create new ones.
However, it DOES sort scenarios and the text file can be displayed by double clicking on the scenario name. Some times the simplest solutions are the best.
By the way, I have nothing against Wrangler (it's a great tool which I use) but I prefer to use SPManager when sorting scenarios.
Hope this helps,
Reg.

Thanks for the tip, Reg. Got the zip file, will give it a try and report how it works. As I get into scenario modification and creating new scenarios it is becoming more idfifcult by the day to keep track of the files.

SP Manager does a one way sort: By scenario file number. That is somewhat better than Wrangler, we can go quickly down the list to review - and it helps to see the gaps in numbers when getting a new scenario ready for distribution.
Thanks for the tip,
