TF follow/destination bug

So, this is weird. This is the second time I've noticed this happening (first time I wasn't sure what happened, and it cost me ships once I did finally notice).
This turn, I load up the orders and think I've finally figured it out - 2 of my TFs are in the middle of nowhere, for seemingly no reason... I check on them, and the lead TF is set to go remain on station at a spot that a different TF (that these TFs had been following, in a chain) had been set to go to.
What I did was this:
TF 1 set to remain on station
TF 2 set to follow TF 1
TF 3 set to follow TF 2
TF 1 returns to a base. Then TF 1 goes to yet another base. Then I disband TF 1 several turns later - TF 2 and TF 3 remained here the whole time. It wasn't until after TF 1 was disbanded that this started to happen.
TF 2 and 3 seem to have departed that last base to go back and remain on station at the last remain on station order for TF 1.
I can post sequential saves of this once I get home and have faster internet [:)].

yes sequential ones will help.
If TF2 was following TF1 and TF1 was disbanded, the setting in TF2 should have been reset - it probably would move to the last destination it had and remain there.
I'll know more once I can get into the saves[:D]

I'm trying to find which one had the order for TF 1 to remain on station. The first few I tried weren't it. Bed time now, will look again tomorrow.

OK, here's what I have. I have saved them in different save file slots. Only TF numbers used here for op sec reasons (TFs were never sighted by my opponent). Files are all from the start of my orders.
011.pws - Turn 410. TF 312 is set to remain on station, with waypoints to arrive there. TF 97 is following TF 312.
012.pws - Turn 411. TF 312 is now following TF 166 (they were in the same hex last turn). TF 166 is proceeding directly to a friendly base, no waypoints.
013.pws - Turn 414. TF 166 is unloading at the friendly base, and I have set it to return to a different friendly base once it has finished unloading. TF 312 is still following TF 166. TF 97 is still following TF 312.
014.pws - Turn 422. TF 166 is at the other friendly port, empty. I disband it this turn. TF 312 is still set to follow it, and TF 97 still following TF 312.
015.pws - Turn 423. TF 312 has mysteriously departed the friendly port and is heading back to its original remain on station location. I don't notice until a few turns later when I realize I have some TFs with valuable ships that decided to run straight into dodge due to my direct route ordering. This port is the same one they set forth from in order to rendezvous with TF 166 back before Turn 410.
The waypoints were cleared when I set the TF to follow TF 166, but the destination clearly wasn't. I suspect the problem occurred somewhere in between turns 410 and 411, though maybe it occurred between turns 422 and 423 when the followed TF was disbanded.
Wouldn't it make sense for TF 312 to simply sit still, with no destination set? Why did it revert to its previously set destination?
011.pws attached.

Let me know if you need more than these.

When the TF was disbanded, the one following used its last destination value which happens to be where it was last going to.
Question is does it have no destination and stop, or return to its home port?
If at sea and you disband the lead TF, you may not want it to stop in a hex that is combat zone. On other hand you may want it stay put giving support to other TFs in hex.
At the moment, I think that it would be advisable that whenever a TF is disbanded and it has TFs following it, that the other TF should be checked.
I may put a limitation on the disband button to not allow it if there are any TFs following it.

Ah.
Well, that would be interesting.
And I'll just try to make a habit of clearing destinations before setting follow orders.

Lokasenna and michaelm, I noticed this same issue some months ago when I had internet issues, (Thus why I didn't post it), Anyway, what I started to do was have all TF's follow the first one at different intervals. IE: TF1 then TF2 follow TF1 at 2 hexes then TF3 follow TF1 at 4 hexes. If TF1 was disbanded the other two ended up in the same hex to help each other if nescessary. And yes it was a pain to keep track of, but I always keep a running list of things to check and I check them of when complete....GP
