Heavily forested medium size map with no roads at night in January 1940.
Russian heavy armor supported by cavalry is already on me! This might be a very short battle. I might be overrun. I hope my Finns have stout hearts...

~Somewhere in Finland...January 1940
Comrade Jessovinski ! Wake up sir...wake up...
What is it?
Our scouts have spotted the Finns!
What..? Its after midnight and it is cold..they would not........zzzzzzzzzing! a bullet passes within an inch of Jessovinski's head..PUT THAT FIRE OUT!...and tell the rest of the men to do the same....
Very well Comrade, tell the boys to mount up, and bring me some of that reindeer meat..what did you call it..?..."Vixen"
Sir..they are on ski's...
what? ski's...?
As Lieutenant Jessovinski was mounting his T28 and chewing on a piece of "Vixen"...he was again..it seemed like for the one millionith time.. thinking about home.Motherland, and Olga and Natasha the Voluptuous mortar girls who were keeping his bed warm this evening.~
Turn 1
Wow I am really starting to hate those 81 82mm morts people keep throwing at me! The battle is joined tanks vs. Ski troops.
I spotted an entire Ski Platoon in the only open field on the entire map!

..needless say the 107mm rounds are on the way!

Jess is attacking fiercely along the entire front with engineers riding on KVs and T-28s supported by cossacks. The bad news is that I'd forgotten about the bug that prevents ski troops from close assaulting tanks!! This puts my ski troops in a really perilous position. Oh well...
I managed to not get my force overrun this turn. I was able to eliminate several Russian units this turn, but even though we both started with 5,000 points, I definitely feel like Jess has the initiative. He holds most all of the center VHs and is advancing everywhere. I'm reminded of the battle between the Serapis and the Bonhomme Richard. Outgunned, I can only hope that I too have just begun to fight.
