Invalid RegKey error when trying to Patch

Post by Hoplosternum »

After being away from WitP for some years I decided to reload the game. After searching through manual, various files, old written notes and emails I finally found the Serial Number printed on the CD itself and loaded the game [:)]

The ingame updater did not find anything so I downloaded the patch from Matrix. I downloaded the latest official patch and applied that. The patch seemed to complete but then up popped this message:

Invalid RegKey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition

The patch does not seem to have taken and when I open the game the graphics don't work properly.

Does anyone have any idea how I can get past this?

I have a WINDOWS 8 pc.

Thanks

Bought a Alienware PC windows 10 from Dell trying to install all my games on it. Every time I try and install Harpoon Ultimate I get a Invalid RegKey WOW6432 Node. Anyone have an idea? Did three installs and uninstalls.

This is the War in the Pacific tech support section, but I'll take a shot and suggest that you make sure you're installing the game to the Program Files (x86) directory and not the Program Files directory.

WOW6432 is the part of the registry that a 64-bit copy of Windows uses to manage 32-bit applications. My wild guess is it's looking for the game in the Program Files (x86) directory and can't find it. Just a guess.
