Does the passive cohesion buff provided by field hospital units stack, or is it a one-unit deal only per army? Does it also work for non-army stacks? For example, I assign one to a corps stack as an extra unit? Thanks.

All ability bonus are non stackable. Only one per unit/stack aplies.
You can use hospitals on any kind of stack.
