H2H Movement weird, or me?

Heya!

I just put H2H in. When I am in-game, and select a unit to move, and it highlites the spaces the unit can move to, it only highlites a small cone facing my rear areas. I select the unit, and the only hexes highlited are a small number facing away from the enemy. Once I move, they highlite normally.

Also, in the first H2H scenario (only one I have looked at yet), my units will not move at all.

Bad download? Inherent glitch? Evil spirit? Anybody know? Sorry if this was covered before.

PS - I know you have heard it B4, but you did one hell of a job on H2H, Leo!

Sounds like you are playing with C&C ON. I opened a scenario in H2H and it defaulted to C&C ON. You could have objective hexes set to the rear in the first instance and in the second, the men may be in defend mode.

That's my guess for you.

Yeah Goblin...

it happened to me too. Default is C&C "on" I agree...so you can switch it easily.
I also got around it by clicking on the unit and changing the status from defend to advance in one battle...before the idea of checking my settings came to mind. :)
See...one year older and I did get wiser! lol :D

It's you.
I am suprised, Goblin. That is the first question in my FAQ.

Q. How do I get my units to move? They show ready but will not go anywhere?

A. The default game setting is to have “Command and Control” on. This limits movement options. Check the Command & Control and Unit communications settings. If the unit is out of range and has no radio, It will only move to the unit objective. To make it easier the first time you play, turn Command & Control off
1. Check preferences menu. Is command control on or off? If on, turn it off. Read the manual about how this feature works.
2. Is your unit set to advance or defend? Right click on the non-moving unit. If it says defend in the black screen, click on the word, Defend, and it will change to advance. Now it should move.
3. Is your unit suppressed? Does it have move factors left? Right click on the unit. Does it have move factors remaining? What is its suppression level? Anything above 5 suppression might pin or suppress the unit so that it won't move.
4. Can it move? Some units have no move factors. Check and see

Back to the tutorials for you, Goblin:D

is like stopping to ask for directions! Nobody does it willingly. :D

Besides...it helps dismiss Goblin's Illusions of Greatest...by showing that he is indeed part human! (I stress "part") ;)

Check your H2H version - is it "ce 7.1?" If not, you don't have the final version. Mine installed with C & C on.

It sounds like you need the patch file - not the entire program file.

kev,

When you get to the screen where you pick solitaire play, PBEM, etc, it still does say 7.1 at the bottom. But right above the buttons, it should say 'Colonel, its head to head' or somesuch thing. Does it?

It doesn't say the ce 7.1 thing until the black screen where it lists scenarios and campaigns.
