Close Combat - Wacht am Rhein quiting to desktop or locking up

It seems like i will never finish a campaign game! it seems like once it crashes to the desk top or locks up in game play that is it does the same in xp or 7 32 bit. running the latest patch. and tried reinstalling game deleting all previous folders and files before starting a new game i give up

When you say you have the latest patch applied what version is the game at? v4.50.14 or v4.50.15b?
The latest unfortunately is still has a label of beta and is only found in the members area even though it was released in March 2012.
