Hello all,

Just a quick post to give you a status update: we're racing against the clock wrapping things up for the final release, which will take place on October 30th at the Slitherine/Matrix Games stores and on October 31st on Steam. We have sorted out tons of things during the past couple of weeks, such as all the animations for the generic launches and rocket deployments (no more placeholders, yay!), UI polishing, localization of all game screens, gameplay balancing and bug-fixing. Make sure to check out the changelog for more details.

I apologize for not being so active at the forums since the last patch was released at the beginning of October, but tidying up all the loose ends is very time-consuming and we're focusing all our energies on that.

Cheers,

Will we be able to use the built in updater to update to the launch version, or do we have to manually DL the file?

Hello Terje,

We're going to build a new installer altogether for SPM 1.0, which you'll have to download from the Matrix site/Steam.

Cheers,

I hope so! This is my todo list until Tuesday morning:

Code: Select all

 Portraits integration
Upgrades to the Mission Control screen
 Integration of the explosions animations
 Wrap up the Museum

 Anything unexpected that shows up!

If I don't manage to fit it, rest assured it will be released in a patch soon after release.

Cheers,

That new version sounds really good! Does the .8? desgination mean we're going to see another patch before the official release, or do we need to wait until the 30th? Just curious.

Apologies for the late reply! The plan is to release 1.0.0 on October 30th altogether. We're 5 days away [:)]

will be there "discouts" for running more programs with similiar core ? like human and non-human rated rockets ? the more of them you run, they more cheaper per rocket progrm they will be ?
for russian space program was "rule" that human rated rockets get only best manufactured parts, while rest, which was still in manufacture limits, get to non-human rockets :).

What we currently have is that some programs share common hardware components, and the game won't charge you for components you already have. So it can be quite an interesting strategy to compare programs in order to reuse as much stuff as possible (that's where the Lunar Gemini's shine, as the capsule is the same). Also, the 'R&D Transfers' take into consideration similarities and differences between hardware components. Yes, developping a reliable biosatellite will give you a small R&D starting bonus for manned programs [;)]

Well, the game definitively reflects that. Non-man-rated launchers are quite a deal in comparison of their crewed counterparts ! But they tend to be a bit less reliable, too. [:)]
