Hello,
I recently purchased Command two weeks ago and have already done the tutorial scenarios. So I sorted the scenarios by difficulty and Brother vs. Brother (Colombia vs Venezuela) came up as the least difficult.

At the moment I'm having a hard time setting up Air Superiority which is one of the scenario's tasks. I have at my disposal x11 Kir C.7 outfitted with Python 3 A/A missiles. I'm launching them in two separate groups of 4 and also a single group of 3, however, even though with a smaller quantity and formation, Venezuela has F-16's which are out classing my Kirs and shooting them down left and right from a greater distance. I might get lucky with 2 or 3 kills due to outnumbering them but by then I have nothing left.

Can anyone give me general advice on how to accomplish this task? I also turn on the land-based radar (AN/TPS-70) and run the kirs quiet and low altitude to hopefully sneak up closer. Thank you

Did you try to make them patrol at a lower altitude? In my experience yes, they have better planes and missiles, but they used to launch at maximum weapon range and missed most of the time. I had like 4 or 5 Kfir lost but I downed 3 of theirs; as long as you have at least two fighters covering the zone, you can call the strike planes in and go for the scenario target without being disturbed, I used the lands force only for recoinassance duties. Don't care how much fighters you lose, just use them wisely and call the airstrike as soon as you spot the enemy camp.

Should the recon spec ops team be controlled by the player or will it act on its own?

Player controlled, I used them as ground-based recon. Once you discover the enemy camp, stay still and wait for the strike aircraft to be ready.
