Gamebreaker Bug in Naval Abort Phase

The game got stuck, when a transport must abort and is loaded with an unit of a different Major Power. (CW and USA here).
The system simply prevents to abort anything in absolute terms, and I cannot even save the game in that phase as I cannot get rid of the screen of the Abort Phase.
Also it does not let click on the side-flags to change Power.
It is in my belief that it does not let anything abort because the Ship (Commonwealth) is loaded with a USA unit, and they cannot move in a splitted way due to being loaded; but as they belong to different Major Powers, they cannot go through the Abort Phase together.
I am unsure why the ground units are to be accounted in the Abort phase, as ultimately they're loaded on ships, and follow the ships blindly, not that they can move on their own accord and abort in ports different than the ones where the ships return to!
Anyhow - it seems me and my buddy have no way to move on with our game. (Heck, I just trashed the Allied landing fleet by lucking thrice 1 in Naval Search where he rolled 7, 8 and 9 in three consecutive rounds!)
Thus I could only take a screenshot!
