Why do I feel like Custer at the Little Big Horn??
I've deployed my meager force in a wide-open map. I'm on a Defend mission. 2500 pts vs 5000 pts of air-supported American paratroopers. The VHs are 40 pts each (end of battle) in the forward 3 clusters and 100pts each (end of battle) in the rear clusters.
And now the carnage begins...

I'm surrounded on all sides. I eliminated a few MG units but I feel like we will be overrun soon.

Those **** Yankee paratroopers are lurking all over the place! They seem to be behind every rock and bush! Doesn't look good...

well my 2nd drop went just fine too...but! my fly over spoted what looked like an entire regiment of PzGrenadiers!

Every time I load the email save game I have to override the security to get into the game. And then it says that Player1's OOB file is corrupt. I am Player2. What have you done to the OOBs, Jess???
Anyway, American paratroops are swarming all over me. This might not last very long... I can only say that we will go down fighting.

I use 7.1 OOB with the US engineer patch, I have seen this before..the game always plays fine;)

Well I managed to repel the Yankee first wave. His paratroops are fierce fighters.
It looks like Jess made 3 drops. One to the northeast in my rear, another to the east in my rear, and another to the southeast in my rear. So I am surrounded on 3 sides in my rear. It also looks like he has a force advancing from the west to my front. This means that I'm being assaulted from all directions. Even if we cannot stop them all, we will fight to the last bullet.

I think Vic-is fibbing to you people..he killed an entire eng platoon and wasted an Airborn platoon!:mad:
at last I took some V-Hs but they were not defended..
V has alot of Spec.Ops and SS (An M4 hates SS:mad: )
Like I said this is no push over!

My kampfgruppe is starting to cause serious casualties against the Yankee paratroopers. The main fighting seems to be against the rear southern Victory cluster (100pts each). I managed to damage thrusts coming from the east and northeast, but the thrusts from the south and west are still giving me anxious moments and heavy fighting. We continue the struggle...

Im almost ready for my final assault...but this darn C&C is still kicking my butt almost as bad as vahauser :rolleyes:

Command and Control problems this turn for me... I eliminated a number of American units but then I ran out of orders and a lot of my units are now disorganized and out of position... I hope Jess's retaliation doesn't take too much advantage of my position...
Heavy fighting continues around the southern rear Victory Cluster.

Hey Jess,
If we replay this battle then I want to try the Americans.
I eliminated a few more enemy units and spent the rest of the turn reorganizing my command/control situation. I await the next American attack.

Hey Jess,
Does this mean that we can replay the battle with me as the Americans?
Also, with the anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge coming up, we can set up a series of battles to commemorate the occasion...
I'm happy to proceed with the Market Garden series too. I don't mind playing several PBEM games/series at the same time.
