Screenshot please? You mean the Truck symbol or which unit/counter in particular?

the supply depot symbol is what I'm meaning. Can it be used as a supply depot, and will a supply line extend from that too your troops. Thanks

That's a supply unit. It is not a supply source. Rather, it extends supply by one supply radius for all locations that are within a supply radius of the unit.
