Air Group formations Question

If I labeled Japanese air groups as squadron, group, wing, etc. instead of the usual, sentai, daitai, etc, would that have any effects on game play? Does anyone know?
Thanks.

It shouldn't have any change. As far as I remember, the game engine doesn't care what a unit is named, it responds to the underlying data. The only place where I know the engine actually tests text is if a ship has a "II" after the name in the database. The player will then be able to rename the ship while under construction.

The property of a ground unit to split isn't related to the prefix Division? I think it was that way in Witp, did it changed?
The "II" suffix for ships work also for Axis?

I don't know if the suffix would work for Axis ships.
The suffix "Division", "Brigade", etc. is tacked on when an LCU is displayed. There is a field for the type in the editor. The unit icon is chosen based on the suffix code and unit type code too. The land units that can be split are based on the suffix code and possible type code.

Yeah you are right it is a field in editor so not a "proper" prefix.
