Need to get some opinions of Game Performance

Playing 10x10 or more all empires (no mods) Pirate Shadows game...

I have created a Ram Drive with Primo Ram Disk.. 2 gigs of my 16 Gigs of ram

I copied Distant worlds folder to the ram disk.. and ran it.it started up.. seemed only a "little" faster than from my SSD 840 Evo Hard Drive it is normally installed on..

meanwhile in-game, when i select the diplomacy screen to negotiate sometimes it takes a bit longer than I would think to show up all the options to negotiate in the diplomacy screen.. (like 3 seconds sometimes) What would be causing that hold up? especially since I am running the entire game from my Ram!??

So basically my question is why doesn't Distant Worlds seem "instant" for loading games and saving and pressing menus (like when double clicking on a planet or ship to go to the ship screen) etc..??

shouldn't my ram be near instant? I mean it definitely seems faster than when I played on the Hard Drive but.. am I too impatient?

I7 Quad core 2.4Ghz 16gig 1600DDR3 Ram , 2Gig Nvidia 755m card..



*edit- I also am playing on the ramdisk and when I zoom in or out, it is kinda jerky and sluggish! Some Ram ... I guess i'll try this running with my nvidia card but that just heats up too much..

I dunno what causes the diplo screen latency but it increases when you have lots of factions. For example ~25years into the game. I play as Pirate. Most of the Galaxy is already explored. ~25 Normal Empire Factions and ~50 (or more) Pirate Factions active. Loading up the trade interface takes more then 10s. Clicking on an item for offering and I get a screen freeze and I can't do anything for up to 20s.. and that for every single piece I add.

I also saw this behaviour while playing as a normal Empire but not so bad as playing as Pirate. Maybe this is because you can trade with Pirates like you can with normal Empires???

I play from SSD too.

Btw saving takes alot of time too.. maybe because the game compress the Data before saving? I tested it with saving on HDD / SSD / RamDisk I see no difference here.
