Hi,

The updater has not been working for me (after following the instructions listed in the updater fix thread stickied to tech support).

I am currently running version 1.0.0 (fresh install).

The updater tells me there is a new version available (v1215) but hangs when finished downloading (tried several times over a 48 period). Firewalls and anti-virus have been deactivated as per thread instructions.

Running windows 8.1 (on surface pro 3)

Actually, the updater doesn't exactly "hang" (it hangs only for a few moments), but then displays this message:

Error:
Unable to download file.
An error occured when downloading information from the server.

Attached the update log.

It does sound like an anti-virus problem. Could there be one still running?

can't tell that one is,i disabled the only one i'm aware of and nothing else reported through my task manager or services.

if you're saying that the result i reported is particular to anti-virus (only and always) then i'll take your word and see if i can dig up what's going on on my end.

i registered for the public beta though which seems like the best way to stay current.

I get this as a general problem with Matrix's games if I try to update from a game's launch screen. I have never seen it as a major issue as downloading the update from the forum has always worked for me.

That's a good alternative. For me, the only time the updater didn't work from the launch screen is about 7 months ago when there was a widespread problem with it.
