Count me in but if we can coincide this with the next version of GD1938, that may be a good idea, assuming that there will be a next version.

Unless I am silly enough to go to work again, I would enjoy another game.

I have been working on a new version of GD 1938, its not balance tested, but if you are willing to do that for me, I see no problem in loading it up

Thanks ernieschwitz I can't speak for everyone but I would be more than willing to balance test.

I dont think a new version is enough for one of our potential players, he wants a "fix" to the cost of research increasing the production value of a nation.

Well a "fix", might be something really simple. Like changing the time it takes to repay the investment. That can be done by changing one number, in fact, in the code. Or by adding a line and changing a number. So it is really simple. I wouldn´t count something like that as anything other than a minor change, on my part, although it could have a huge influence on the game.

My personal opinion is that except for China I have never had a problem advancing the goal if I wanted to, it does come at a cost though you can not raise as many troops or advance your tech as fast initially saving up for the boost.

It is not fun to defer the spending of PP in order to advance the production percentage, but I usually do it too.
It can take a while however.

Balance testing is ok with me.

I thought perhaps we could exclude the non-discretionary production from the calculation of % increase. Prolly tough to do in a dynamic sense.
I've got a high HQ, (Stavka) completely overwhelmed with supplies that I cannot reduce while I'm starving for PP's. As I recall, India had a similar issue, in that no supply production
was necessary from the discretionary part of the production capacity, there was essentially infinite supply from the non discretionary production.

Supplies made by oil sites and coal sites, and not to mention chemical factories are not included in the calculation.... So your wish i think, is already granted in that sense.

Here's a turn of production:

And here's the card:

So I get a +20% increase for 688 pp's. That much is clear to me. How do I go about trying to determine my base, non discretionary production capacity ?

That is a lot of production. The more production you have the higher the cost to increase production, that is why I usually increase production before ever building a factory.

Here's a turn of production:
Everything on that list, except Supply and Supply(Oil), counts as production. Each item on that list will have a cost, multiply that item cost with the number of items, and you get the production cost of those items. Add them all together and you get a total production cost.
And twotribes is right, factory production (Non-chemical factories) count too.
