I still hold off buying this one:
1. I tried, but after a while I gave up upon WitE. Is this easier to get into than WitE?
2. I have seen that air combat is more detailed - what about sea battles?

1. In my opinion, yes - this is easier to learn than WITE. The tutorial videos, player's handbook and comprehensive manual make for an easier learning curve.
2. There is an expanded air war and amphibious TF HQs that include naval power. There is also naval interdiction and troop ships. However, the focus in WITW 1943-1945 is very much on the ground and air war (as well as the various invasions). The allies at this point had pretty much achieved naval supremacy. If in a future release we cover the earlier parts of the Western Front then we will also expand on the naval side. So for this release, the naval side is fairly abstract - modeled as needed for invasions, naval transport, invasion support and logistics, but not for sea battles.

- Erik
