Just a couple of Lazy Questions (rushing)

Ok a couple of beginner questions since I played the first scenario

How do I get the camera to follow the naval invasion unit whilst it is doing its move as it seems to just stay on part of map you set as destination and you have to manually pan camera to get back to ship as it sets off from port.

Would be nice to have Camera snap to unit when it starts to leave port.

Is there any good vids that show how to manage land battles better e.g. Having lots of units in a HQ when I actually want to separate the tanks from the HQ so they can fight but get messages like unable to reorganise unit?

What are the best settings to have a really slow game that shows all the background resolution in detail?

What keys are they to select multiple hex units for a combined attack from say 3 fronts?

I guess I should read the manual but I just wanna fiddle with it tonight and will read the manual next week when I am working away from home and bored in the hotel.

Bye the way, I am loving this game so far

It doesn't really follow the unit, but you can just zoom out a bit more to watch the whole path.

I'm not sure I understand the question about separating tanks from the HQ, could you be a bit more specific on what exactly happened? Are we talking about support units or the normal on-map units?

Combat resolution has a pretty wide range. You can try out the different levels in the preferences or by hitting the number keys. Try 5 or 6 for a fair amount of detail. 0 is really fast, no real info. Just see what works best for you. I sometimes speed it up, sometimes slow it down, but often play on 2-3.

To combine units from three different hexes to attack one hex, they all need enough movement left for a Deliberate Attack, which is the only kind of attack that can be coordinated. Otherwise you have to do hasty attacks one hex at a time. To do a combined Deliberate Attack, just hold down the shift key and mouse over all the hexes to attack and it will select the units that can participate, then right click on the target hex to attack.

I'd suggest watching all the videos, then reading through the player's handbook, then dive into the manual in that order. Enjoy. [8D]

Thanks for the advice.

Camera following unit = ok, I guess I need to zoom out. Just thought there may have been a snap camera to unit switch I was missing

Thanks for tips on Resolution details.

I was referring to a command unit having Armour in it, I wanted the armour units separated from the command unit so it could then join in a frontal attack. Or am I right in thinking that if I select the command unit as part of a detailed non hasty attack, those armour units within it, will assist in the battle.

I now know the difference between hasty and detailed attack thanks to the hr long vid done on twitch.

Watched the vids, and they are good for air and invasion, was just a bit stuck on the land war. Like I said, It is fairly easy to grasp this game. I know I need to read the manuals etc but wanted to twinkle with things during my weekend home. I will read the books next week.

Thanks for all the help. Great game and really looking forward to getting right under the hood and amount of detail it surely has to offer.
