Can I filter units shown on the map?

Let's say I only want to see HQ units on the map, or perhaps only units belonging to a certain HQ, would that be possible?

I'm a complete newbie, but I did search the manual for "filter" without success.

No, but you may want to use the shift-z hotkey to show command links (lines in different colors showing units that are related to the current unit).

Ok, thanks. The use cases I imagined are probably only relevant for inexperienced players like myself. Like helping me to make sure I don't forget to move up certain unit, or not spreading out units too much belonging to the same HQ.

The Commander's Report can also be extremely powerful in terms of looking through your OOB and seeing how things are organized and reorganizing them.

You can also use ctl plus certain number keys to highlight certain classes of units. E.g., ctl-2 highlights air units; ctl-3 highlights motorized/armor; ctl-4 cavalrty; ctl-5 highlights non-motorized; ctl-1 highlights HQs and shows hierarchy. More details in the manual and in the hotkeys help menu.
