HOW do I execute the air directives I've added? The only way I can see to execute them is through the Automatic Air Directive Creation screen but before that works I seem to have to have the AI set the air directives which would overwrite the ones I did. Until I do that the EXECUTE button on that screen won't work.

Help.

Click on the first button on the bottom button bar up top. When your air directives are all set and confirmed, select no air directive and the execute button should appear.

I have similar problem to OP. But I cant understand your solution. Would you please elaborate as Im having big problems understanding AD`s. Thankyou.

Do directives stay there between turns, or do they have to be re-done every turn?

AD will stay in tact turn after turn until changed, either by you or the AI if you tell it to. They can be edited each turn as needed without having to create new ones. Or just delete it and create a new one. AD is your oyster, have fun with it!

I had this issue - you have to unselect all your air HQ's, which takes the right hand tab away and reveals the execute button.

You also have to de-select the air unit before you change air modes or it clears your mission if you're inputting them manually.

Hi Augustas,

When done setting up your directives, click on the button that's pressed down in this screenshot. It also corresponds to the F1 key. Then the execute button (looks like an arrow) will appear and you will be ready to execute.

They absolutely stay.

I often start by setting air directives automatically on turn 1. Then without executing, I look at the visual and list summary of air directives. I then tweak and adjust them to my liking. After turn 1, I often only have to make minor adjustments until I decide on a new air strategy.

Creating and changing air directives is actually pretty easy and fun once you get the hang of using the visual and list summaries to let you see what you've done and what they are set to do.
