The Saves, deleted the 80 & 100sec Autosave as the file was too big. I guess that's an indicator...

How many active units did the scenario have?

Ok this is definitely a performance test. There are hundreds of missiles up.

Didn't crash in the current build but ran like molasses. Adding this to our list of things to look at altough its definitely on the extreme end of the curve.

Looks like one of my normal openings...probably why I see crashes and am anxiously awaiting the release of the new build =) I tend to play the US side like the old Soviet style of mass missiles to overwhelm the defenses. In an effort to get past the first 5 minutes, I have started being more conservative with my munitions and end up going "wow, you mean I only needed about 25% of what I used to launch?" =)

Go Big or Go Home [:D][:D]

I was able to play it through no problem after a restart.

The Strike was from two Tico's and two Spru's trying to swamp the defences so 122 TLAMs. Probably 200 defence missiles up at a time - so only 300 missiles or so [8D] .... Maybe I could add another Spru?

Nah, that would be unrealistic. Add an SSGN

I find that if I go from real time to 5 sec time and then save the scenario, it then crashes the whole program. So now I save first, then reset the time from 1:1 to 5 sec. and no more crashes.

This is an example of a game crash. The program crashed when the last tomahawk aimed at the nuclear storage in Pakistan was shot down. I had the time set to 5 sec, but had not saved right before crash.

Yes but the error seems different. This is with sound effects ON. Will try again with sound effects OFF

Save games for 2nd crash

OK - Sound effects OFF and no problem - a little harder to track the game but no fatal errors!

Also the file size seems smaller - not sure if that is because of the sound effects though.

Gunner98, I dumped sound and ran a mass-launch opening about 2-3x bigger than I had ever done. Even at 1sec compression each second took 8-10 to process, but it went through the whole strike and kept going. I can live without sound!

Thanks guys. Next version does have a sound fix in so hopefully that will resolve many of these crashes.

Ok Super,

I made an error on my last test and ran it on an older version of the file, with an older DB.

Re-tested and had another successful result. Autosaves attached and an early save in the next post.

Of note - the TLAMs seem harder to hit in the latest DB version, the SA-6a Gainful in particular seem very ineffective - probably a good thing. The AD logic seems quite good. 120+ TLAMs inbound and the only ones that got through were targeted on HASs where they have very little effect. All the TLAMs targeted against runways, revetments and other targets were knocked down. Not sure if that is by design or if it is simply the sequence of the TLAMs coming in.

Also, file size is certainly smaller than with sound on.

Here is an early save with the TLAMs inbound
