I am setting up the AE Guadalcanal scenario and trying to verify the various Japanese OBs.

Was there in fact a Japanese Infantry Regiment (124th) plus an independent infantry
battalion 2nd (Kitao) at Tassafaronga on 6 August?

I believe these units did not arrive at Taivu until August 27th at the earliest.

I'm not sure about the 2nd Bn, but the 124th Infantry was not present on Guadalcanal on August 7th, in fact the 124th did not enter combat until the battle of Edson's Ridge, September 12th...over a month after the landings.

EDIT: I am guessing it was added to keep an Allied player from taking all of Guadalcanal in the first week of August.
