Can't post.

Everything I try to reply in threads I get hit with this:

"You are not allowed to post links, emails or phone numbers for 7 days from the date of your tenth post."

It does not matter what I write, I get hit with it every time I try. Interesting part is that I have posted earlier and had no problems, but all of a sudden i'm not allowed any more.

Ok, let's try and see if it works here.

EDIT: Ok, so I can post replies here it seems, but not in the Command: Modern Air / Naval Operations subforum.

"You are not allowed to post links, emails or phone numbers for 7 days from the date of your tenth post."

Just saw that after spending 10 minutes on my first posting, attempting to reply to a Conflict of Heroes thread. There were no links, emails or telephone numbers in the posting and subsequent attempts to re-send did not go through.

So I am now at my first attempt seemingly on a blacklist with no clear idea what was wrong with the posting. Thank you for that. Not a great end to my first interaction with this site, I have to say.

Thank you Zak, but it doesn't alter the fact that a) my original post was innocuous and shouldn't have been filtered in that way, and b) through no fault of my own I have to jump through several quite unnecessary hoops before I am deemed worthy to use this site.

In effect the content filter misfired and I am now incorrectly blacklisted. Who do you reckon can fix this?

yes, you just need to post elsewhere like here until your posts get to 10, then wait 7 days from when you first join, then all will be done and sorted, good luck

Zak I appreciate your prompt response once again, but with respect that's not quite what I was getting at.

What I'm not clear about here is the precise situation I find myself in; am I under this "post-10-wait-7" (let's call it that for convenience) arrangement as a default because a) I am a new poster (i.e this happens to everybody), or b) there was (perceived to be) something wrong with what I posted which triggered a content filter?

If a), then fair enough, I suppose, although Matrix won't be winning any PR points from me for letting me waste 10 minutes on a posting that was never going to be accepted. A funny way to find out about this arrangement, don't you agree? Is there a Sticky that sets out this policy? My apologies if I've missed it.

If b), as before, the content filter has got it wrong, I have been unfairly blacklisted from certain parts of the Forum and this needs to be fixed. I'm presuming that your status is one of Helpful Fellow User rather than a Mod or otherwise affiliated with Matrix, and can't directly assist with this aspect.

I'd be grateful if you (or someone else) could tell me whether a) or b) above is the actual state of affairs.

Thanks, PB

i.e this happens to everybody so yes this one

once the 7 days and 10 posts are sorted you will be fine, same rules for everyone, no idea about if a sticky tbh, might have been in the signup link etc?

Thanks for clarifying Zak - good to know I am not being singled out but, as above, I think more could be done to make new users aware of this arrangement.

But anyway... thanks for helping me with this!
