Combat results figures

As the manual is not very detailed on this:
What do the different coloured figures under the detailed combat report mean?
Where can I see the losses of a unit in total?
What relation of strength points should I have to be sure to win the battle (with high readiness)?

If you are talking about the figures in the combat results screen, the center two columns show elements within each unit that were unaffected by the combat. The outer two columns show elements (the figures) within each unit (regiment) that have either been retreated (white, probably lowered readiness) or killed (red, removed from the unit). The number beside/below each figure is the number of that type of element that has that combat result for each unit. Each tank/artiller/airplane figure represents 5 pieces of equipment. Each troop figure represent 100 soldiers. There doesn't seem to be a good way of telling how much each unit lost without just adding up the numbers of each red figure.
