Going through what is assigned to air commands I noticed RAF Coastal Command has two heavy bomber squadrons assigned.
Is there really any reason why those are there and not in Bomber Command?
Thanks

Maybe to get the German ferries or the evacuations of the islands off of France.

I would imagine they were ASW aircraft. Harris famously did not believe in diluting the strength of Bomber Command. The Fortresses and Liberators wernt great for night bombing but had range and the the Halifaxs wernt as good as Lancasters and the Wellingtons were obselete so he begrudgingly parted with a few squadrons of each type. Even the lowly Hampden ended up a long range torpedo bomber with coastal command. Bomber command directly operated mining missions called "Gardening"for mainly operational training and diversions but that was seperate from coastal command. So basically its an anomaly as there is no seawarfare in operation in game as i understand it.

There were ASW variants of various bombers.
