Something to be said for people that build nice things primarily by hand instead of robots.

Those are some beautiful images, thanks for sharing!

I wonder how different it is from the KnAAPO line though.

I know what you mean. [;)]

Although for some of the steps to get the best accuracy in your paint scheme or maximize stealth, you do want to use the precision of a robot, for some steps.

Great link OP, I see my counterparts in those images, just regular guys doing their job. Some of the steps are the same for all aircraft manufacturing, human hands are a big part of even the latest equipment being assembled correctly.

Su-30 is spitting out pilots...
I was just a BT in the Navy but I don't think that is requested feature.

interesting link - uncommanded ejections happen more often then published in media:
http://www.pprune.org/military-aviation ... ction.html

and Su-30 has no auto eject feature like the Yak-38

There was a similar incident with the JAS-39 Gripen some years back. The pilot was manoeuvring during an exercise, and then all of a sudden he found himself hanging in a parachute out in the cold open air. Must have been quite a surprise. I think they concluded that he had to thick thighs and that they somehow during the flight interacted with the ejection levers during high G:s. They subsequently fixed the setup to get rid of that problem.

Nice factory pictures!
