Gunner…
You are such a. Marvel..... A great resource… Your scenarios are by far my favorite the attention to detail and the Plausible doctrine etc. etc. it's outstanding really…

I was raised in a military family… My father was a career Air Force officer… I grew up from Newfoundland to Tokyo to Athens and back..... Even if a boy I had interest in Geo politics and history… however I will grant I am no scholar…
my father was a security officer with NATO Air South in Naples during the Cuban missile crisis........ We had long talks… To my good fortune he would talk to me like a man…
So it is easy for me to say that the defining geo political event at shaped me and affected my life was without question the Cold War… Many people now have no idea if it's scope and potential consequences… So I cannot hardly be anything but impressed with what you were doing in this series…

I've started three of them… I first got into "hold the line" I …… Here come the cavalry… I started it three times while it was being beta tested....... The first impression was overwhelming and intimidating… however the more I look at it the more I got into it… It's just amazing… It's huge… There's so much going all over thousands of miles… It is an incredible exercise in management… it is work.... It is intense....

I had to spend a couple hours just studying the map and all the assets the briefing the orders… Etc. etc.… The more time I spent with it the more involving it became… And from what little I know appears to be faithful to Soviet doctrine....... Force composition.. disposition.. missions.. Intent… Really good....
Your briefings are the most encompassing and have a real feel of realism… The scenario gives a sense of the scope and weight that event like this would entail.........

I will say that Hold the Line 2.2 definitely played better from the start… Although I do miss the phantoms… I was using them to raid the Soviet rear.... But after a few hours of scenario… It definitely plays better… however after a few hours I decided to save it and start with the first scenario of you're series…

I loaded H Hour...... Again the number of units in the detail was amazing and I had to spend considerable time studying the map… Upon starting within minutes.. I had an actual sense of dread… It was almost cinema graphic… It was easy to assess that the only thing I could do…was fallback and preserve my forces to have some potential later effect…
I let them have Finnmark and the north… Rushed as many air assets to the north that I could… And establish a line with my fighters in the Troms region.. Where I have had success in stopping there strikes trying to penetrate to the south… I'm certain there will be other waves coming and I'll have to fallback again eventually.......
So… It is just a process blunting their momentum … Attack,, fall back.... attrit.. preserve… Attack… Etc. etc. until it's over…
At this point in the game… At this point in the scenario… fighters based in Great Britain are just starting to head north… But the pattern has been set of.. Delay..rear guard.. attrition warfare…
I think it might be interesting the script this into a video… It is certainly educational in a nonviolent way of seeing what high-intensity combat assaults are about......

Now… your scenario…. X-ray Station… All I can really say is.... Brother... Or Geezzzz.. may do.... I started it three times… And I kept being destroyed really pretty quickly… So I tried so many different things… Even going against the orders… That were a total fail… But.. One time when I restarted the scenario I accidentally picked red side… When I did .. Believe me I got the picture… Which I would like to post but can't get my printscreen thing to work…which is probably just as good because when anybody saw it they wouldn't play the scenario… however it does get your point across… And leads to the next one…

I'm still playing the scenarios and will write more about them in the future… However once again… They are truly remarkable… I would like to design scenarios… And you set the standard that I would aim for…

In conclusion I only wish to encourage you to keep going… I hope your standards of excellence and attention to detail.. plausible doctrine.. composition.. disposition and intent…will inspire other designers to make scenarios as rich and comprehensive has yours...... Good for you.. Whata guy.......
