I've been absent from CMANO for quite some time. Is there - by third party tools perhaps - real campaign game possible by now? I could imagine linked scenarios or a single huge scenario.

There are both community created linked scenarios as well as huge scenarios readily available.

There are linked scenarios, gigantic scenarios, gigantic scenarios that are linked together, and Lua scripting that can both spawn new units and change AI missions allows for even more complex games.
