What a pleasant surprise. Most likely a buy.

Sounds interesting, however, I wish it would have said strategy instead of tactical.

Downloaded it last night. A lot of fun. It's not a meticulous simulation of medieval warfare - thank goodness!

Very good editors included! I'm very glad I bought it.[:)]

Yes, thank goodness.

They weren't called the Dark Ages for nothing.
The period is characterized by a relative scarcity of historical and other written records at least for some areas of Europe, rendering it obscure to historians.
There is so much that will forever remain conjecture. It's all best guesses. Be suspicious of anything "meticulous" about that time. We simply don't know.

Looks a heck of a lot better than Fields of Glory and probably that Vietnam game (which I am guessing has no editor). For $30, I'll follow Keystone's example [;)]

can't really compare two games of different ages and engines, as it's apples and oranges all over again, plus looks don't make a good game, it helps for some, but not everyone, AI and content mean more than good or bad looking, not really played many Keystone's games either, so have no idea if they play better or worse but always good to see what others are doing, and any war game maker is good for me, as there's not that many around now days...
Comparison to Pike n Shot

same answer as above, and not sure which Vietnam game you means either, as board has a few, unless you means the one being released on here?

and as i've not played theirs, only this one, can't really compare them or give a honest answer to that either, or i would[;)]

Vengeance is the title?

Yes

Tactical combat from the Dark Ages to the Renaissance.
The dark raven with horned beak, and the livid toad, the eagle and kite, the hound and wolfin mottled hue, were long refreshed by these delicacies...

Over a thousand years of Vengeance!

From the Dark Ages to the advent of gunpowder, return to the days when war was the sport of nobles and ravagers who understood that courage, guile, and leadership were the main principles of warfare.

Love the editor feature..looks like you can pretty much design your own troops and counters and maps etc etc. So lots of re playability potential.

I very like art style but after playing demo I have too say that game seems very simple. I like it but for now it's not worth the price. It has very basic I-go/U-go system. I'm afraid that there is not enough deep to keep anyone for longer.
You can get demo from digitalGameworks site. I advice to check it out before buying.

Messed around with the demo version. It is quite simple, but might be a fun game to play. Esp when I only have a sort amount of time to play a game, without having to think too much, easy settings for the relaxing evening.

Thanks for pointing out the game, will be on my radar.

In its simplicity, and at a cheaper price, maybe best suited for tablet play?

I agree with above comments so far, and just bought it to work in the editor [:)]

I've invested a lot more in Fields of Glory with its dice rolls, very weak editor, and now a lack of dev support, or so it seems.
